Descripción: En este taller Alison Macrina del proyecto Library Freedom presentará herramientas prácticas, libres y gratuitas para proteger la privacidad de los usuarios. Estas herramientas ayudarán a los participantes a encriptar algunas de sus comunicaciones, minimizar la data que se recaba sobre ellas y mantener sus archivos más seguros. Las herramientas exploradas en este workshop cubrirán temas como passwords seguras, navegación anónima, bloqueo de herramientas de rastreo de terceros, encriptación de chats y textos y más.

Resultados: Los resultados esperados para el final de este workshop será que los participantes puedan configurar herramientas de privacidad fundamentales y que estén dispuestos a realizar acciones a futuro que les permitan mantener su privacidad y seguridad.

Description: In this workshop, Alison Macrina of the Library Freedom Project will present on practical free and open source tools for protecting user privacy. These tools will help participants encrypt some of their communications, minimize the data collected about them, and keep their assets more secure. The tools covered in this workshop will address strong passphrases, anonymous browsing, blocking third-party tracking, encrypting chat and text, and more.

Outcome: The expected outcome of this workshop is to get participants set up on fundamental privacy tools, and encourage them to take further steps on their own to protecting privacy and security.
