Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Necesidades: Sin requerimientos especiales

Track:

Facilitador: Kavya Sukumar

Tiempo: 2 horas

Description:
Autotune is an opensource platform developed by Vox Media to manage and create tool. The goal is to allow code templates for graphics and apps be created as "blueprints" that allow reporters to create multiple projects easily.

See more of how it works here: https://source.opennews.org/en-US/articles/introducing-autotune/

Working example here: http://demo.autotune.voxmedia.com/

This workshop will teach the attendees how to convert a simple app into a blueprint that you can use with Autotune. The workshop with walk the users through creating a D3 map of the world as a blueprint. Reporters can then go in and use a google spread sheet to  create a choropleth map and embed code with no help from a developer.

After the introduction to blueprints, we can work on more complex blueprints for the hackday

Outcome: Attendees know how to build blueprints for Autotune and can use them in their own newsrooms.

It will also be a good place to come up with more complex blueprint ideas we can work on during the hackday

Requirements: No special equipment is required.

Track:

Facilitator: Kavya Sukumar
